EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL & DEDICATED COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER

I bring a combination of extensive professional experience and a deep passion for public service, uniquely positioning me to effectively serve and advance the interests of our city.

Professional Path

I am a proud graduate of UCLA and Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. My professional journey began at Lagerlof, Senecal in Pasadena, where my practice included municipal, contract, business and water law. I also ran my own business for over five years and later assisted my husband with managing his urgent care clinic, gaining a deep understanding of the challenges faced by small businesses and an appreciation for their vital role in fostering a vibrant community.

My experience as an independent contractor for the City of El Segundo’s Public Works and Building Departments has provided me with valuable experience and insights into city operations and management. Since 2015, my work with the West Basin Water Association and the West Basin Water Rights Panel has involved collaborating with industry leaders across the public and private sectors—from the cities of Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Torrance, Hermosa Beach, Lomita, and Gardena to LADWP, the Water Replenishment District, and West Basin Municipal Water District.

My diverse professional experience has provided me with a well-rounded perspective and a deep understanding of resident needs, business synergies, and effective governance — all critical aspects when serving as a member of our City Council.

Community Service

Throughout the 25+ years I’ve lived in Manhattan Beach, community service has been an integral part of my life. I have proudly served in various volunteer roles:

  • Healthcare Advocate: My work as a Trustee of Providence Little Company of Mary Foundation, and as chair of numerous fundraisers and health care panels with PLCM, the American Heart Association and Torrance Memorial Medical Center, are a few examples of my dedication to fundraising, educational and healthcare initiatives, driven by a commitment to bringing essential services and valuable information to the South Bay community. Through these efforts, I work to ensure that all residents have access to the resources they need and the knowledge to stay healthy and thrive.

  • Community Volunteer: As a volunteer at numerous organizations and efforts, including the PTA, Manhattan Beach Education Foundation, Scholar Quiz, Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation, Skechers Friendship Walk, Amigos Unidos, my dedication to service at a local level reflects my deep understanding of the critical role that volunteers play in shaping a vibrant community. By actively engaging with and supporting these groups, I am committed to fostering a culture of collaboration and service that strengthens our community and enriches the lives of all its residents.

  • Team Supporter: As an avid sports fan and dedicated supporter of our local programs, I have proudly served as a Team and Booster Parent throughout my children’s involvement in sports. My volunteer service with AYSO, MBYB, and Mira Costa Beach Volleyball, Swim Team, Lacrosse, Cross-Country, and Track and Field has played an important and integral part of raising my family in our city. Youth sports are a cornerstone of our community, and you won’t find a bigger fan of our local teams and youth athletes than me.

Family Foundation

My husband and I chose Manhattan Beach 25 years ago with a vision for our family’s future—a vision centered around living in a safe, close-knit community with outstanding public schools. Over the years, our three children have thrived here and we’ve loved the community we’ve built in Manhattan Beach.

All three of our kids have benefited from the exceptional education provided by MBUSD. Jacqueline recently graduated with honors from UCSB, Christopher is flourishing at the University of Washington, and Collin is making the most of the incredible opportunities at Mira Costa High School. My kids have not only excelled academically but have also developed a lasting love for learning, thanks to the support of our wonderful community and to the rich experiences they’ve had at MBUSD. I am committed to working with MBUSD officials to ensure that this same high-quality, inspiring education remains available to all students, so every child in our district can reach their full potential.

My husband, Mike, an ER physician, has devoted the past 25 years to serving our South Bay community—currently with Sollis Health and Providence Little Company of Mary, and for 17 years prior at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. His work has deepened my understanding and appreciation for the incredible healthcare network we are fortunate to have in our community. Together, we’ve dedicated ourselves to supporting not just the health and well-being of our own family, but also our broader community.

In Manhattan Beach, we prioritize public safety, education, and supportive community connections, no matter our differences. These fundamental values drive my commitment to ensuring our city continues to thrive and provide an outstanding quality of life for all its residents.
